Elections are the fundaments of democracies. Citizens get to contribute to the development of their own nation’s future. In the western hemisphere, this is something often taken for granted. In other parts of the world, an election might be considered a luxury and voting could mean risking your life.

The credibility and support of a newly elected government rests upon the election having been free and fair. International experts can advise on the election process and independent observers can validate or reject the election results. Any outside advisers must be sensitive to the religious and cultural environment in which they operate.

Jennifer Schmidt Consulting can provide guidance on the overall organisation of an election as well as more specific legal advice.

“The vote is the most powerful instrument ever devised by man for breaking down injustice and destroying the terrible walls which imprison men because they are different from other men.”

Lyndon B. Johnson
